You have decided that it is time to start strength training. You’ve heard all the benefits and you want to capitalize on them. You’ve seen the success of others that are consistent and you want to see similar results. You’re ready to go but what do you do next?
First, you need to figure out how much time you can commit to each week and then how much time the days you pick. Example you can do three days a week with 30-45 minutes. Then you need to pick what actual day(s) and the time of the day you will schedule for your workouts. Block this time out just like you would a meeting.
Second, you need to figure out what strength training that you’d be most consistent with. Should you start with bodyweight or go straight to dumbbells? Do you want to use different types of bands instead of and/or with dumbbells? These are questions you have to ask yourself. You might also have to try them all to find what you like best.
Third, you need to find or create your workout plan. If you are new I recommend finding a program to follow. I do not recommend you writing your own at this time because it is stressful and you’re not educated about movements and movement combos. This is where hiring a coach is a great option. But if you don’t want to them finding programs that are written by people that actually know what they are doing will work great for you. Know there are a lot of “fit-influencers” out there that don’t know a single things. Do you research.
Finally, do the workout and stay consistent.
Ok there is a lot more. But that’s what I can help with as your coach. 💖
