Let me hit you with some knowledge on strength training to get you on the bandwagon.
Strength training helps boost your metabolism. When you build muscle you increase your metabolic rate. Your metabolic rate is the rate your body burns the calories you eat. It has been estimated that every pound of muscle you have burns six calories at day at rest. Which might not seem like a lot but it’s three times more than that same pound of fat. Every little thing helps on your healthy lifestyle journey.
Strength training allows you to create muscle definition by losing fat and building muscles. This is achieved since muscle is more dense than fat. This means inches can go down even if you haven’t lost many or any pounds. PS this is that toned look everyone says they want.
Strength training makes your bones stronger. When you strength training you stress not only your muscles but your bones. Which in return increase your bone density and can reduce your risk of osteoporosis. This is important since as we age we lose bone mass but you can slow down this lose with strength training.
I could keep going on with my list but I said three things. So there you have it.
