Find The Cardio That Fills Your Soul

First off it’s funny that I even love running as much as I do know since before 2020 I always said there was only ever two reasons to run…
1. A serial killer was chasing you.
2. I was running after Luke Bryan

Oh how the times have changed. 😹😹😹

I’m 2020 I decided to break the lie that I can’t run because I had asthma growing up. It was a trigger back then but I had medically grew out of it. Yet I still held onto that story.

It all started with a goal to run a 5k each month for fun with friends. Well then we all know what happened on 2020 but I kept running and by summer I was convinced I could train and run a half marathon. Of course it got cancelled but I kept going.

Then in spring 2021 I checked off the half marathon goal. Along the way I made some fabulous running friends and they convinced me to train and run my first marathon that fall. Again checked that off.

But after running it I hated running. It didn’t go as planned and I was in a funk. But that’s when I found trail running.

From the moment I stepped onto the trail I knew I was home. My heart was happy and full of joy. The trail is where I will stay now. You could probably catch me doing a half or shorter on road if it’s a cool location, for a good cause or with my friends. But I’ll never do another road marathon.

I will however become an ultra runner on trails and only the Lord knows right now how crazy I just might get… We know 50k is happening but what could be next? 50 miler? 100k? Who knows. All I know is if it’s on a trail I’m in!
