
I fully support any version of strength training that gets you moving your body. But don’t tell all the other forms that strength training using dumbbells are my favorite of all.
You are probably wondering why that is. Well let me tell you…
They allow for a wide variety of exercises.
– You can do almost anything with dumbbells. They are super versatile and the list of exercises you can perform is almost endless. You’ll never run out of things to do and muscles to burn.
They increase stabilization.
– Dumbbells require greater stabilization then other equipment you may use for strength training. The main reason for this is because you have more freedom of movement. Which in returns activates more muscle fibers and helps strengthen your stabilizer muscles.
They help eliminate imbalances.
– Dumbbells work muscles unilaterally which allows you to more easily find, see, and feel your weaker side. This is because you cannot compensate for your weaker side with dumbbells. Remember to always train to your weaker side, be that the weight your use or the reps you do.
They increase your range of motion.
– Unlike other equipment pieces dumbs allow you to overload your muscles by going through the full range of motion. This in return uses more muscles fibers and stimulates muscle growth.
These are just a few of my reason why dumbbells are my favorite child of home gym equipment. I hope you find them to be your favorite too!
