Boss Move: Adding Strength Training For Your Running and Hiking Plans

I’m only trying to get you to do what’s really the best for you. But you keep fighting me or giving me BS reasons why you can’t or won’t do it. Sis I will keep saying it until we get on the same page and fyi it’s my page you need to get on.

You’ve heard me say before that strength training will help:
– strengthen your muscles
– decrease injury risk
– help improve running form

But so you know that it can also help improve your race pace. Yes, I just said you can get FASTER by having a solid strength training routine. And we all want to get fast, don’t lie.

Then what do you need to do?

Spoiler alert it is not just lower body! Yes, your legs propel you and you need them to be strong AF but you also use your core and upper body. A strong core helps with stabilization and your overall economics in running and hiking. Then yes you use your arms, they help push you forward with your drive and at the end of the day everything is connected to the kinetic chain.

So yes the answer is full body workouts.

The best news I’m here to help, fabulous people like you, Sherpa through the process of building and executing a strength training program that is specific to your hiking and running goals.
