You are ready to hit the trail but you are asking “what should be in my backpack?” There are so many things you could put into all the pockets but let’s not weight yourself down. We will however be prepared because preparation is key!
In Part Two of “what’s in my backpack?” we are going to talk about Snacks and Hydration. 🥨💦
In My Backpack:
– Water (in bladder of backpack)
– Water with BPN Electrolytes (in squeeze bottles)
– PB&J Sammies
– Kodiak Granola Bars
– Kodiak Graham Crackers
– Annie’s Cheddar Squares
– Annie’s Fruit Snacks
– Pop-Tarts
– Oatmeal Cream Pies
– Bobo’s Oat Bars
– HEB Trail Mix
– Nut Butter
Don’t forget to pack in reusable bags and make sure you take all your trash back with you!
The hope is that you will never need to eat all the food or drink all the water. But it is better to have more and not need of then run out and get in a bad place. This list is for my all-day hikes. Shorter hikes will have selected items from this list.
And yes that’s most simple carb items. I don’t normally eat most of these items but when I’m hiking I’m more concerned about getting the calories I need to fuel my body with items that are easy to carry in any weather conditions.
Remember, when you are out on the trail it is your responsibility to be prepared and to get yourself home. This will also allow you to be a great steward of the trails and potentially help others in a time a need. Just make sure you still have what you need. Don’t put yourself in a pickle.
🍗 What is your go-to snack on the trail? What’s a new snack you’d like to try?
🥾 See you on the trail!
