Stretching Shouldn’t Be Left to Hope

We have all been guilty of not stretching after a run or hike.
– We don’t have the time.
– We don’t want to do it.
– We’d rather eat some food first.
– We just want to sit down.
– We say we will do it later.

Y’all all of that is the devil coming out to win. We all need to get better on stretching within minutes of ending our run or hike. And guess what? I’m not looking for a long stretching sessions. All I’m saying is a nice few minutes. Your body will thank you later for it!

So what can you do? Great question! Here’s my go to after run/hike stretches. Do them all or pick a few or change them up each time.
– Figure Four (standing or seated)
– Rag Doll
– Standing Quad Stretch
– Single Leg Calf Stretch
– Hip Flexor Stretch (standing or kneeling)
– Yogi Squat Hold
– Shoulder Stretch

🙋🏼‍♀️ I’d love to hear what your favorite after run/hike stretches are OR which from the list above you are going to do after your next run/hike!

Remember giving your body the love and recovery it needs will make you a stronger runner/hiker overall. Be trail strong, trail fab! 💖
